A good time to pause and plan

With Santa’s arrival now getting closer by the hour, I wanted to take the time to wish all of our valued clients, friends, suppliers and colleagues all the very best for the festive season.

I hope everyone will be able to enjoy a relaxing break with those they care about, enabling you to return in the new year refreshed and revitalised, ready for the opportunities and challenges that the new year will inevitably bring.

When we look back to this time last year, no-one had the faintest idea that 2022 would bring the change in market dynamics that it did, including eight monthly increases to official interest rates in a row since May 2022! Yet despite these moves by the Reserve Bank, the property market has demonstrated remarkable resilience with our team achieving strong sales results on a weekly basis throughout the City of Moonee Valley and surrounding suburbs.

Whilst there may be further rises in interest rates in 2023, we expect that local homeowners will still be able to move forward with their property plans with confidence and determination, particularly when supported by experienced property professionals who know the local market and how to achieve the best possible results in all types of conditions.

On that point, I also want to give due recognition to the remarkable team at Barry Plant Moonee Valley, from the sales and property management specialists to those working behind the scenes in Admin and support. Every one of these dedicated people have shown remarkable resilience and dedication in a year where constant change has become the ‘norm’, proving once again that the greatest asset any business owner can have is a great team behind them.

So, as you put your feet up and take some time to enjoy the company of those you care about, I know many of you will be using this break to think about your plans for the coming year, including those that relate to real estate.

If you need advice or assistance in clarifying those plans, don’t forget that our office will reopen and our team will be back on deck from Tuesday January 3rd, so don’t hesitate to give us a call from then at Barry Plant Moonee Valley on 9319 1700.

In the meantime, stay safe.

Best wishes,

Bill Karp
