Once again this week the Barry Plant team in the Inner-North was able to achieve a 100% Auction success rate for our happy vendors, confirming the value of an experienced team with plenty of local market knowledge as well as the level of buyer confidence in the state of the May market.

Results like these provide further confirmation that whilst the weather may be a little fickle, and the buyers may be playing their cards close to their chests, auctions are still a very productive method of sale in the May market when handled by a team that knows how to make them work.

One example of this took place in Murphy Grove in Preston, strategically positioned in between the buzz of High Street and Northland. This entry level opportunity involved a neat two-bedroom villa unit which had plenty of appeal for several first home buyers who were excited about getting their foot in the door of the property market in a popular area like Preston. Some restrained renovations added to the appeal, with the SOLD sign going up at a very pleasing $455,000.

Meanwhile, over in Bruce Street in Central Preston, another competitive auction produced an outstanding result. Clearly the opportunity to secure a peaceful three-bedroom townhouse in the heart of Preston, just a stone’s throw from the shops and cafes on High Street, and an easy walk from Preston Market and the trains, was an appealing one. Multiple first-time buyers fought it out, with auctioneer Jim Dimitropoulos orchestrating an outstanding sale at $735,000. As you can see from the photo, both the buyers and our vendor seemed very pleased with the result.

The important thing to remember if you are currently considering selling is to ensure that you get experienced advice on the best way to approach the May market. So don’t hesitate to give the Barry Plant team in the Inner-North a call for an obligation-free chat about your options. You can call us any time.
