From "The Age" today
In case you missed it, there was a large article on page 11 of “The Age” newspaper today that was good news for property investors, if not for the many tenants who are trying to find rental accommodation in the Preston area.
The article pointed out that Preston has been attracting large increases in average rentals, even outstripping areas like Brunswick that in the past have been regarded by many as more “fashionable” places to own a property.
It was also interesting to read the perspectives of a tenant who described Preston as “the new Brunswick”, commenting on the rising number of “trendy cafes” along High Street which regular readers will know flows from the process of gentrification that we have been commenting on for quite a few years.
From our perspective here at Barry Plant Preston, the rise in rents is simply a reflection of rising property values as more and more people come to recognise the exceptional lifestyle benefits that this area offers.
