Another 100pc result in the Spring rain

This week’s auctions involved properties that provided a snapshot of some of the different property styles that we deal with in this area, but both results were similar in that they attracted big crowds, competitive bidding and exceeded each happy vendor’s expectations.

Our first auction involved a brand new two-bedroom townhouse in Cynga Street in Preston (pictured). Enjoying its own street frontage and a handy location with shops, transport and parks all nearby, this modern low-maintenance home saw five determined bidders competing for the keys in the rain. Despite being declared on the market at $650,000, the bidding continued all the way to a very satisfying $690,000. As you can see from the photo. It was a result that seemed to produce smiles all round.

Meanwhile, over in Mansfield Street in Thornbury, a striking Architect-designed four-bedroom home also produced an enormous amount of satisfaction for buyers, vendors and our team, particularly as it had previously been marketed by another agent without success. With the trams, shops and cafes of High Street right at the end of the street, this was a property that captured much of the appeal inner-north, so it was very pleasing to be able to achieve such a solid result in front of another large crowd.
