There is no doubt that the growing presence of apartment buildings in Melbourne’s inner-north, indeed the entire Melbourne landscape, tends to divide opinion among residents.

For some, the ongoing construction of apartment buildings around our suburbs is a source of concern, with some saying it impacts the overall charm and character of our treasured streetscapes. For others, however, apartment living is the best way for them to balance their busy lifestyle, keeping maintenance to a minimum whilst freeing up time to enjoy all of the attractions that the inner north provides.

What is very clear from our perspective here at Barry Plant is that no matter what your feelings are, there is certainly plenty of demand from buyers who are keen to live the apartment lifestyle, whether as first homeowners, downsizers or as busy professionals looking for ‘lock it and leave it’ convenience.

Regular readers will be aware that our team has achieved several recent sales on apartments, with SOLD signs going up on Barry Plant boards in front of apartment buildings on Bell Street, Plenty Road and High Street. We saw another example of this strong demand with another sale in Bell Street this week, which clearly demonstrated the appeal of this residential option.

4/372 Bell Street in Preston (pictured) was a chic double-storey apartment with easy access to all the lifestyle benefits that this area is renowned for. Highlighted by superb bamboo floors and pitched ceilings, this apartment featured a state-of-the-art Blanco kitchen, two bedrooms, good-sized outdoor living space on two balconies, and secure undercover parking. Strong interest from multiple buyers produced an excellent sale at $535,000

Of course, with the Easter break coming up, many buyers will be keen to explore as many mid-week Open Houses as possible this week. If you’d like to stay up to date with these, you can visit our website during the week.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about the local property market, you can call our team at any time.
