The inner-north continues to show strength
It was interesting to receive so much feedback after last week's market update regarding the strength of the market for top quality townhouses in Melbourne’s inner-north, both from buyers who are particularly keen on that segment of the market, and the builders, developers and investors who are interested in selling this type of property in our area.
Indeed, it reminded us of the importance of keeping in touch with your agent to ensure that you don’t miss an opportunity, as it is not uncommon for properties in the $1 million-plus price range to be marketed using an “off-market’ strategy, with sales being completed without the property ever hitting the internet.
We saw another example of this during the week, with an up-market townhouse that was located right beside one of our recent sales becoming available using this approach.
This particular town residence, (similar to the property in the photograph), showcased an upmarket contemporary design that blended generous accommodation with excellent indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces.
Positioned in the heart of Preston West, close to HP Zwar Park and the Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre, this property achieved an excellent mid-week off-market sale at $1.2 million, a result that reflected the strength of demand for quality low maintenance living in the inner-north.
Of course, with the AFL Grand Final coming up next weekend, our auctioneers won’t be waving their gavels around.
