Market competition continues to break new ground

One example of this involved a 2-bedroom period home in Beauchamp Street Preston that we took to auction today.

This property certainly had a good location going for it, being within walking distance of bustling High Street shops, restaurants and cafes, cosmopolitan Preston Market, the Station, trams, schools and parks.

However, it is also fair to say that all the interested parties were looking at the best ways to capitalize on the period charm through some major renovations, extensions or even potentially redeveloping the site.

So, it was interesting to watch the reactions from several members of a good-sized crowd when a well contested auction saw the bidding rise all the way to a remarkable $906,200…a tremendous result for a small, unrenovated home.

Importantly for anyone planning on selling in 2017, buyer numbers through our Open Houses this week were also very strong, indicating that future results are likely to be very positive. The key piece of information for those selling in Spring, however, is that the clock is already ticking. With football finals, the racing carnival and the school holidays all likely to impact on people’s timing, the sooner you get your property market-ready the more likely you are to make the most of the current conditions.
