Market remains strong in the shadows of Christmas
In past years it wasn’t uncommon for buyer activity to start to taper as the festive season got closer. However, the property market in 2019 has been very different, with the strong buyer demand we have been reporting since the middle of the year remaining evident right up until the last few days before Christmas.
Not only did the team at Barry Plant Inner North achieve yet another 100% auction success rate in the last auction weekend of the year, but we also saw some outstanding sales being negotiated during the week to add an extra touch of Christmas cheer to the lives of several happy vendors.
Among the most recent results were:
Coburg North: 1/25 Tonkin Avenue
A number of clients have commented on the way various members of the Barry Plant network work together to produce great results for our clients. This three-bedroom unit was another example of this, with our Coburg office working with our team to achieve an outstanding sale at $688,000 at this week’s auction.
Preston: 69 Albert Street
Four motivated buyers competed for this potential-packed two-bedroom home (pictured) on around 500sqm of land close to Northland, schools, parks and transport. The result of a spirited bidding duel was a very satisfying sale at $670,000.
Reservoir: 732-746 High Street
The team was able to complete two strong sales of brand-new townhouses in this convenient position this week. One two-bedroom townhouse with one bathroom achieved $641,000, whilst a second with an extra ensuite reached $748,000. A tremendous result for all concerned.
Results like these are great news for anyone planning on selling in 2020, particularly those who will be ready to put their property on the market early in the new year, when all those buyers who have missed out to date will be so keen to secure their next home before the year gets too old.
If you’d like to discuss your plans for next year, our team will be taking a short break with our offices closing at 12 noon on Monday December 23rd and reopening on Monday January 6th.
In the meantime, allow us to wish you, your family and friends all the best for the festive season. We hope you have a safe and relaxing break, and look forward to enhancing your property plans in 2020.
