Massive results as Summer turns to Autumn
The last day of the Summer season certainly produced some remarkable auction results for our vendors, but when you look at just how strong the Summer market has been in Melbourne’s inner-north, stretching all the way back to the first week of December, perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised.
One of this week’s results that certainly got people talking involved a tastefully updated period home at 6 Shakespeare Avenue in Preston. From its picture-perfect Californian Bungalow initial impression to the stylishly updated interiors, this beautiful four-bedroom/two-bathroom home found immediate interest from several families who were keen to make it their own.
A well-managed campaign attracted multiple motivated buyers, with at least four of them competing strongly at the auction, and several more getting left behind as the bidding soared to a remarkable $1.725 million. A huge result that surprised many of the locals. Including our ecstatic vendors.
Whilst not quite in such an elevated price bracket, the auction of a three-bedroom timber home at 31 Beatrice Street in Preston proved to be just as memorable for all concerned. One reason for this was the fact that the home had remained in the one family since the day it was built back in 1950’s, so there were clearly lots of memories involved in the decision to sell.
Located just off Murray Road and close to Northland Shopping Centre, parks and cafes, this charming family home offered plenty of potential for future enhancements, resulting in a competitive auction that saw the price climb all the way to $890,000 which was well above the expectations of our delighted vendor. As you can see from the photo, the result produced lots of smiles all 'round.
As we touched on last week, anyone considering selling in the current market needs to be aware that sales results like these don’t just happen. They are the product of strategic planning and an in-depth knowledge of the local property market.
