One of the really positive signs about the property market in the City of Darebin in 2017, particularly if you are considering selling, is the broad spread of demand from property buyers.

Whilst the property market in the Preston and Northcote area has been known for its older period style homes for quite some time, our team at Barry Plant Preston has noticed a growing trend among local property buyers towards considering the benefits of purchasing brand new homes as well, particularly when buying off the plan.

Our team has been able to achieve several very strong results for vendors recently who have been selling new townhouses off the plan. A recent sale in Hawker Avenue in the $800,000’s was another example.

The last of the ultra-modern 2-bedroom townhouses (pictured) that are currently under construction in Kallista Court also found new owners during the week, providing an excellent example of why property buyers find this option so appealing.

These townhouses offer modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances and Caesarstone benchtops, hardwood timber floors in open plan living zones, double-glazed windows, heating and cooling though out, remote-controlled garages and more.

Whilst these features are often of little interest to those property buyers who are focused on period architecture, they do provide a viable alternative for many people who are looking for low maintenance living and modern comforts.

The important message for anyone considering a sale in 2017 is that no matter what type of property you want to sell, the chances are there will be multiple property buyers looking for exactly what you have to offer. Whether it’s old or new, an apartment, a unit, a townhouse, a free-standing home or a block of land, the demand is there right now.

Remember, if you need any assistance in preparing your property for sale, or some obligation-free advice on how to maximise your result, you can call us any time.
