Signs of a smile-filled spring ahead

Once again today we have seen numerous examples of the strength of the Spring property market in Melbourne’s north, with several of our fellow members of the Barry Plant network achieving 100% auction success rates and some very strong turnouts at several Open Houses.

Perhaps the most notable result this week involved today’s auction at 38 Spring Street in Preston. With thriving cottage gardens creating an attractive backdrop for this 3-bedroom timber home, we found many buyers were taken by the overall character the moment they pulled up outside. Once inside, however, they discovered an abundance of period charm in the Art Deco ceilings, picture rails, hardwood floors, leadlights and open fireplace.

Add in the ultra-convenient location close to the station and Preston market, and it was no surprise that this appealing home attracted buyers from all over Melbourne’s suburbs. Given the current shortage of available listings, and the huge numbers of buyers currently looking to buy in this area, we watched the market make its impact and the property was sold for a very satisfying $947,500.

As you can see from the photo, the successful buyers were more than happy to bring an end to their house-hunting weekends – it’s a scenario that we expect to be repeated many times before we reach the end of this year’s strong Spring market.

Don’t forget, if you’d like to discuss the best ways to maximise your result when you sell in the current market, feel free to give us a call.
