Terrific townhouse tops this week's results

So, whilst our team members are still busy negotiating on a couple of older-style free-standing homes in Preston as we write this report, it was interesting to note that it was the sale of a modern townhouse that really caught the eye this week.

The townhouse in question was situated in Furzer Street in Preston, a quiet street within a short walk of Newlands Primary School and Coburg Hill Shopping Centre. This thoughtfully designed two-storey contemporary residence offered two bedrooms upstairs, each with built-in robes, a stylish fully-tiled bathroom and a surprisingly spacious study nook. On the lower level, accessed via an attractive timber staircase, the modern kitchen was equipped with stainless steel appliances and stone benchtops, whilst an open living space opened out to a private courtyard area that catered for outdoor entertaining in privacy.

As we’ve touched on in previous updates, low maintenance living is a popular option in the Preston property market at the moment, so it was no surprise to see a good interest and a strong sale being achieved at this week’s auction. As someone was overheard to say during the Open House prior to the auction, “One day, all townhouses will be this good!”

The important message for anyone considering selling in the next few months is that in order to make the most of the strong Autumn selling conditions, you will need to get things rolling fairly soon. Whilst there will be very few auctions next weekend, (apparently they frighten off the Easter bunnies!), history tells us that there will still be lots of buyers out and about.
