Once again this week our team at Barry Plant has seen further confirmation of the underlying strength of buyer demand and confidence in Melbourne’s inner-north, with particular emphasis this time round on the ever-popular Thornbury property market.

Whilst we have been commenting on the overall air of positivity we have been experiencing this year in areas that range from Reservoir and Bundoora through to Preston and Northcote, one of our results this week reconfirmed just how high the esteem is among property buyers for the Thornbury property market.

The property in question was a three-bedroom home on Murray Street in Thornbury, (pictured) with a good-sized allotment of 721sqm and the added benefit of rear right-of-way access. As is common in the Thornbury property market, the location was a key feature here. At one end of the street was Thornbury Railway Station, whilst the other end provided immediate access to the trams on St Georges Road. Henderson park was just a few doors down the street, whilst the cafes and shops on High Street were a casual stroll away. Add in zoning for Northcote High School and the equation certainly added up well for location-conscious buyers!

The home itself was immediately comfortable but certainly offered plenty of potential for future renovations or a rebuild, whether a single-dwelling or possibly more with approval from the Council.

All things considered, this property certainly had several appealing features in the Thornbury property market, so it was no surprise for our team when we experienced strong enquiry levels and plenty of buyer interest. However, the proof was certainly in the pudding when the vendors decided to accept a convincing early offer of $1.3 million rather than waiting to see what happened on the scheduled auction day this weekend.

Of course, whether you are looking for guidance or assistance on any property matter, from buying and selling to leasing, you can rely on our team at Barry Plant for up-to-date and accurate information. Feel free to give us a call.
