Many buyers commented on the leadlights and decorative ceilings, whilst modern touches like the stainless-steel kitchen appliances and fresh timber floors also drew favourable attention. Add in the location, within minutes of trams, cafes and Preston market, and it was no surprise to see good numbers of buyers keen to compete. Four bidders got the chance to raise their hands, with the eventual sale price of $942,000 exceeding our delighted vendor’s reserve price by more than $60,000. As you can see from the photo, it was a very special moment for the buyers as well!

A renovated 3-bedroom home in Rene Street also found new owners during the week, with a very pleasing offer of $1.07 million sealing the deal. Once again, this result confirms the importance of vendors having faith in their agent when we recommend further negotiations after an auction rather than settling the highest bid on the day.
