Team Updates and Exciting New Career Opportunities
Barry Plant Phillip Island & San Remo farewells Jenni Kent
After nearly two decades in local real estate, much-loved team member Jenni Kent has officially hung up her clipboard and keys to begin a well-earned retirement.
Jenni first joined the business in 2007, quickly becoming a familiar face and trusted professional to countless property owners and buyers across the Island and San Remo. Her care, local knowledge and genuine connection with people have been hallmarks of her career.

After facing some health challenges in 2024, Jenni decided it was time to slow down and enjoy life on her own terms—swapping open homes for open roads. She’s now travelling through Queensland in her van, enjoying sunshine, freedom, and a new chapter of adventure.
The entire Barry Plant Phillip Island & San Remo team thanks Jenni sincerely for her many years of service, dedication and friendship. She leaves behind an incredible legacy within our team and community.
A Growing Future – and New Opportunities
As Jenni embarks on her next journey, our business continues to grow, with the recent expansion to a fourth location. We now proudly service the Bass Coast and South Gippsland regions from offices in Cowes, San Remo, Wonthaggi and Inverloch.
The continued expansion of our business — across four thriving office locations — has created an exciting period of opportunity for those looking to build a long-term career in real estate within our region.
Over the past three years, under the leadership of CEO Jodie Hanssen, our business has undergone a complete transformation. Drawing on high-level experience leading Melbourne operations while deeply understanding the values and lifestyle of the Bass Coast, Jodie has reshaped the organisation into a modern, progressive and people-centred real estate group.
We deliberately operate differently. While many regional businesses still follow traditional structures, we have invested in contemporary systems, advanced technology, efficient workflows and a strong operational backbone that empowers our people to work smarter — not harder. We combine the warmth and personal connection of a local team with the professionalism and capability of a high-performing Melbourne agency.
That is why so many of our young parents choose to build their careers with us and stay long-term, and why some team members have followed Jodie from previous workplaces. Loyalty grows naturally in an environment where people feel respected, supported and able to put family first.
As we continue to grow, we are welcoming new team members across several areas of the business — from sales and leasing, to marketing, administration and customer service roles. Rather than a “one-size-fits-all” approach, we work with candidates to shape positions to suit their strengths, stage of life and professional goals. Importantly, we also offer higher salaries and the most competitive OTE sales commission structure in the Bass Coast, allowing high performers to thrive and be truly rewarded for their contribution.
Our recent alignment with Barry Plant — Australia’s Major Network of the Year — further enhances the opportunities available to our people. Through industry-leading training, technology, resources and a highly regarded brand, our team benefits from the support of a major network while still enjoying the closeness and culture of a local, family-focused business. This partnership also elevates the service we offer our clients, providing a Melbourne-standard experience right here on the Bass Coast.
With record growth, strong leadership, a supportive culture and the right systems in place, we are exceptionally well-positioned for the future — and we invite driven, values-aligned individuals to be part of our continued success story.
Whether you’re an experienced agent ready to grow your career, or someone looking to enter real estate for the first time, there’s never been a better time to join our team.
