Strong sales as sanity returns

Given the rapid rate of change we are experiencing in our lives at the moment, it won’t come as a surprise to many of our readers that the past week or so has been a turbulent one for many of the buyers and sellers in Melbourne’s north-west.

Indeed, if you look back to LAST WEEK'S UPDATE you will see that just one week ago we were trying to get our heads around the rather misguided announcement from the State Government that all inspections of property that was being lived in, whether you were a buyer or a prospective tenant, had been banned as part of our social isolation rules.

The good news, of course, is that by Easter Monday the powers that be had realised that this was a ridiculous restriction of people’s ability to choose where they wanted to live. The decision was reversed, meaning that buyers and tenants could go back to inspecting properties where other people lived. The rules on limiting inspections to one-on-one inspections, and the guidelines on protecting people’s health, are now clearly understood, and the good news for anyone planning on making a move at the moment is that properties are selling and being leased despite the overall restrictions on people’s movements.

One example of this occurred with the sale of an immaculately presented single-level home in Hillside.

No. 4 The Willows (pictured) offered three bedrooms and a study, two bathrooms and plenty of flexible living space including a huge covered outdoor entertaining area. A very pleasing sale at $635,000 produced smiles all round.

In fact, our team was able to finalise 9 separate transactions in the past week alone, with several off-market sales among them. So, it is worth reminding everyone about the importance of registering your individual requirements with our office to ensure that you don’t miss out on some of these opportunities.

Remember, if you are considering making a move at the moment, the key ingredient that can make all the difference to your result is experienced advice. The team at Barry Plant Caroline Springs and Taylors Lakes are always happy to assist if they can, so feel free to call us on 9390 8333.

Best wishes,
