Local sellers enjoying a memorable Spring

A prime example of what we’ve been seeing this Spring occurred at this week’s auction of a neat four-bedroom home at 142 Victoria Drive in Thomastown (pictured).

This warm and inviting home had attracted strong buyer interest throughout the weeks leading up to the auction. So no-one was surprised that we had multiple buyers attending on the day, despite the wet weather which forced the auction indoors. In the end, we saw four active bidders competing for the keys, with some other interested parties not even getting the chance to raise their hands.

Among the features which drew the strongest response from buyers during the campaign was the opportunity to secure a fourth bedroom or study, (a bonus for many growing families), and the location in a popular pocket of Thomastown within a short walk of Thomastown Meadows Primary School.

In the end, the strong buyer interest took the bidding well beyond our happy vendor’s reserve price, with the gavel falling at a very satisfying $790,000.

If you ever wanted an example of just how emotional auction day can be for those involved, this particular result saw tears of joy from the buyers knowing that they had secured their first home and are already planning renovations in the near future; tears of joy from the vendors after seeing such a strong result having created so many happy family memories here over the years…even our Sales Consultant Christine got emotional after the spirited bidding duel!
