Winter sales reflect consistent demand.

The weather in Melbourne in the first few weeks of Winter has demonstrated a fair degree of variability, but our sales results so far this June have shown a real consistency in demand from buyers in a variety of categories.

Whether we are pursuing sales for our vendors through the very public platform of an onsite auction, or the other end of the scale utilising a quiet off-market campaign, our team at Barry Plant Thomastown has been able to secure some excellent Winter property sales results in the past few weeks.

One highly effective off-market result was achieved on a four-bedroom home in Bickley Avenue Thomastown. The value of our database of highly motivated registered buyers was demonstrated when we were able to negotiate a strong sale at close to the $800,000-mark for our vendors before we even had a chance to organise photography, let alone promote it on the internet! A young family with one child is looking forward to moving into the neighbourhood in time to see the Spring blooms bursting into life.

In an even more recent result, our auction this weekend of a dual level four-bedroom, two-bathroom home (pictured) at 5 Collins Street in Thomastown attracted interest from several families who liked the flexibility of the floorplan, and the easy access to Primary and Secondary schooling, transport options and local shops. This one was sold on the day, bringing smiles to the faces of all involved.

Results like these provide clear confirmation that there is still a consistent level of buyer demand for property in Melbourne’s northern corridor, despite the vagaries of the Winter weather. So if you are considering making a move in 2026 property market, and would prefer to have your current property under contract so that you are ideally placed to take advantage of the expected Spring rush, I would invite you to give our team at Barry Plant Thomastown a call this week to ensure that you have all the ingredients in place. Our number is 9466 3233.

Cheers,

Con Constantinou
