During WWII, the Watsonia Military Camp was used as a military base before being turned over to the State Housing Commission for emergency housing. Neighbouring suburbs include Bundoora, Greensborough and Watsonia.</p><p>On the eastern border is the beautiful Binnark Park which has an oval, barbecue facilities, bicycle trail, toilets and a cricket ground. The western border is flanked by the Western Ring Road and Greensborough Bypass.
