ABOUT SEAHOLME

Seaholme is a small, exclusive coastal enclave located approximately 13 kilometres southwest of the Melbourne CBD. Often overshadowed by its larger neighbor, Altona, Seaholme is defined by its quiet, "no-through" residential character, framed by the Port Phillip Bay shoreline and the sprawling wetlands of the Kororoit Creek.

The lifestyle in Seaholme is centered on nature and coastal leisure. The suburb is home to the Seaholme Foreshore, a popular spot for kiteboarding and walking, which connects seamlessly to the Altona Coastal Park.

Residents enjoy a peaceful, community-focused atmosphere where social life often involves walks along the Kororoit Creek Shared Trail or gatherings at the local Seaholme Reserve, which serves as a major hub for community sports and local events. While primarily residential, the suburb's proximity to the Pier Street precinct in Altona provides easy access to a sophisticated array of cafes and dining options without the associated bustle.

Significant infrastructure works are currently enhancing the suburb's connectivity and environmental health. A major project reaching completion in late 2025 is the Altona Road (Ford upgrade), which has replaced the deteriorated crossing over Kororoit Creek. This project has introduced a new two-way vehicle carriageway and a dedicated shared user path for cyclists and pedestrians, significantly improving the link between Seaholme and the Racecourse Road precinct. Additionally, the upgrade included the construction of a "fish ladder" to support local genetic diversity and bird species in the creek. Residents are also benefiting from the opening of the Metro Tunnel on November 30, 2025, which has increased rail capacity and provided more frequent "turn-up-and-go" services at the Seaholme Railway Station.

Education is a primary drawcard for families, with Seaholme Primary School serving as the community’s educational anchor. The school is known for its strong emphasis on environmental sustainability and community involvement.

From a property perspective, Seaholme is a high-value and "tightly held" market with a high rate of owner-occupation.
