There are a number of green reserves, parks and playgrounds in the suburb, great for a sunny afternoon walk, picnic with the family or get lost in a book under a beautiful tree.
The suburb has a small town centre on Were Street where you will find all the essentials, a supermarket, post office, chemist, bakery, coffee shops and cafes and other small shops and eateries. The footpaths are paved with mosaic pictures representing the local histories of the suburb and a 3 story ornamental windmill stands tall on the corner of Were St and Rattray Rd. If you're in the mood for a bit of retail therapy, you’re only a 5-minute drive to Greensborough Plaza or a 10 minute drive to Westfield Doncaster Shopping Town.
Schools in the area include Montmorency Primary School, Montmorency Secondary College, Montmorency South Primary School, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School and only 15-20 minutes from RMIT and La Trobe Universities.
Montmorency train station will get you to Melbourne in around 50 minutes and bus services getting you everywhere else you need to go.
