About Collingwood

Collingwood is located 3km north of the CBD and is one of Melbourne’s oldest suburbs.

The suburb is known more for being the former stomping ground of the infamous Chopper Read but times have changed, the area is a much friendlier, trendy suburb now, popular with young professionals & students.

On Smith Street you’ll find some of the city's best restaurants, bars, lively pubs and vintage furniture stores, while also being practical with a large supermarket and health food stores. Venture down the side streets to find parks and pop-ups like the People’s Market.

The Collingwood Football Club (the Magpies) were once housed at Victoria Park and are now based at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Public transport consists mainly of trams on Smith Street and buses along Hoddle Street & Collingwood’s train station located nearby Abbotsford.
