Newhaven sits at the entrance of Phillip Island, about 126 km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD. Nestled beside The Narrows and adjacent to San Remo, this coastal town has a strong focus on retirement living and tourism. Over recent decades, it has transitioned from its agricultural roots to a serene seaside community with waterfront appeal.

Newhaven is noted for its relaxed coastal pace. It features popular beaches like Back Beach, Cove Beach lined with pine trees, and Rennison Bight. The marina and yacht club are central attractions, serving boating enthusiasts and adding to its scenic vibe. St Paul’s Estate is a historic beachfront site drawing local and visitor interest.

The town also benefits from improved community infrastructure. Graydens Reserve, a local recreational area, is set for a $1 million upgrade including skatepark enhancements, playground additions and expanded open green space to support youth engagement.

Newhaven Primary School serves prep to year 6 locally; secondary students typically attend Bass Coast College in nearby San Remo or Newhaven College

Local retail outlets around Phillip Island Road include modern shops and an IGA supermarket. San Remo, just over the bridge, offers additional services.
