About Kangaroo Ground

Kangaroo Ground is a leafy, green town 26km north-east of Melbournes CBD.

The town consists of Kangaroo Ground Primary School, a general store that is also a café, petrol station and newsagent, a post office which is reputed to be the only one in Australia which is also a winery, as well as a pony club, a tennis club, a fire station and Restaurant.

Kangaroo Ground War Memorial Park is a war memorial situated at Garden Hill, featuring a 12 metre tower of remembrance, and is one of the highest places in Melbourne and is now used to monitor bushfires during the bushfire season.

With state park and the Yarra river bordering the suburb as well as being nearby to the town centres of both Warrandyte and Wonga Park which feature markets and cute, riverside cafes and boutique stores, Kangaroo Ground offers a relaxed lifestyle. You can feel miles away while being close by to everything and less than an hour to the city with Freeway access close by.
