About Ferny Creek

Ferny Creek is a green, leafy suburb located 33km south-east of Melbourne's CBD

The suburb is surrounded by gorgeous forest and wildlife thriving in the national parks including the Dandenong Ranges to the North and West, The Upwey Habitat Corridor to the South and Sherbrooke forest on the east border.

There are many great walking tracks and scenic hikes in the surrounding forested areas including the popular 1000 Steps Kokoda Memorial trail, dedicated to the Kokoda Trail of WW2 many locals and tourists gather here for exercise or a picnic.

Ferny Creek Primary is the only school located within the suburb itself however there are plenty to choose from in surrounding Ferntree Gully, Upwey and The Basin.

The closest train station is the Upper Ferntree Gully Station on the Belgrave line.

Its roughly only a 10 minute drive to the nearest supermarkets at IGA Upwey, Maxifoods Upper Ferntree Gully and Ferntree Gully Woolworths or Foodworks. Surrounding suburbs also host a number of great markets such as The Gully Market, Kallista Organic Market, Seed of Life Market or the Belgrave Big Dreams Market.
