Suburb profile: Yarra Junction, VIC 3797

Yarra Junction, named so as it sits at the junction of the Yarra and Little Yarra Rivers, is a town in Victoria, approximately 55 km east from Melbourne's CBD.

Yarra Junction is often regarded as the commercial centre of the Upper Yarra region.c

Yarra Junction has several schools: Upper Yarra Secondary College, Yarra Junction Primary School, St Joseph's Primary School and the Little Yarra Steiner School. In addition to these schools, there is also a rural country campus for Caulfield Grammar School. The Yarra Valley Living Centre (also known as the Gawler Centre) on the outskirts of the town runs well being retreats, including for those with cancer and multiple sclerosis. 

People from around the area enjoy the swimming pool and recreational other facilities, such as netball, football and cricket.  The shopping centre has a range of shops and cafes, as well as supermarket, medical centre, post office, library and other goods and services.  The Warburton Trail passes through the town. 

In recent years there has been more development and subdivision within the town, which has resulted in a range of properties being available depending on needs.  There is also an aged care facility, a timber mill, and acreage properties outside the main residential areas.
