Barry Plant Eastern maintains strong clearance rates and multiple $2M-plus sales

Facing strong competition for a fully renovated Templestowe house, a dad’s bidding skills helped a young couple secure their first home.

The 1/2 Beverly Hills Drive house on just 328sq m zipped past its $1.1 million seller’s reserve to fetch $1.281 million.

“There were four bidders, including a father bidding on behalf of his daughter and her partner and who was also helping them buy the property,” Barry Plant Doncaster East agent Scott George said.

“The daughter was in tears and emotional after the auction as they had been looking for months and inspected the house five times.”

The three-bedroom home on two levels had impressed buyers with its spacious interiors and renovation quality.

The owners of more than 10 years had not expected such a strong sale as the property is located close to the main road.

Earlier Mr George and co-agent Ryan Faridi sold 5 Simone Crescent, Doncaster East, prior to auction for $2.25 million.

The 1801sq m lifestyle property features a solar-heated pool, spa and tennis court but is also located near busy roads, Mr Faridi said.

The sellers were happy to accept the strong offer, which was within their price hopes, and the property sold on March 31.

The Barry Plant Eastern Group had a strong outcome on the April 2 ‘Super Saturday’ of auctions, finding buyers at eight of 10 auctions.

Among the group’s recent outstanding results were several $2 million-plus deals, with 29 Meredith Avenue, Templestowe, fetching $2.35 million.

“It is in the sought-after double school zone for Serpells Primary and East Doncaster Secondary, and the new owners are upgrading to the house,” Barry Plant Doncaster

East agent Belinda McDiarmid said.

The property has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a pool, plus views of the Dandenong Ranges.

Agency director Theo Politis and Ms McDiarmid also secured a $2.517 million sale for 27 Campbell Court, Warrandyte, on April 2.

“It was a good result for a large 4020sq m property that had no pool and no tennis court,” Ms McDiarmid said.

The pair also sold a 4068sq m lifestyle home at 31 Heads Road, Donvale, for $2.352 million on April 1. The result for the four-bedroom family entertainer was above the seller’s expectations.
