About Bayswater

A residential and commercial neighbourhood in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Bayswater is part of the City of Knox local government area and is situated 27 kilometres east of the city's CBD. 12,262 people were residing in Bayswater as of the 2021 census. With the most sought-after features and still being relatively affordable, Bayswater has a lot to offer both residents and discerning investors.

It is an excellent suburb for a number of reasons, including the abundance of stores to select from, the train station, parks, and convenient access to large retail malls and motorways.

There are plenty of education options for families in Bayswater including the Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, Bayswater Primary School, Bayswater South Primary School, Bayswater West Primary School and Bayswater Secondary College (formerly Bayswater High School).

Shopping is a breeze with Coles, coffee shops and variety stores, including a Discount Pharmacy at Mountain High Plaza. The suburb also offers Woolworths and Aldi supermarket stores and an array of popular restaurants boasting delicious cuisines from all over the globe. In addition Westfield Knox is only a short drive or bus ride away for all your fashion retail needs, cinemas and more dining options.

Bayswater Park is popular with sports lovers, featuring two ovals, as well as netball and tennis, on surrounding courts. The adjacent playground, known by the locals as the 'Train Park', contains a disused steam engine, which has been altered for children to play on.

The suburb also has a railway station on the Belgrave line right opposite the main shopping hub.

The Bayswater Kangaroos, often known as The Waters, play in the Eastern Football League and represent the area in Australian Rules football. The Bayswater Cricket Club, a member of the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association, is also based in the neighbourhood.
