Inverloch is a coastal town in Bass Coast Shire, approximately 143 km southeast of Melbourne via the South Gippsland Highway. Inverloch offers a relaxed seaside vibe, ideal for retirees, holidaymakers and families.

With its clean beaches, friendly feel, and spacious green areas, Inverloch is often described as serene and community-minded. Highlights include monthly farmers’ markets, local cafés, and a welcoming coastal atmosphere.

The town has a tight‑knit community with active groups and volunteers. Local services include the RACV Inverloch Resort, seasonal markets, cafés, restaurants, pubs, caravan parks, and a monthly farmers’ market on The Glade.

Anderson Inlet is a calm, protected tidal estuary perfect for swimming, boating, kitesurfing, fishing, and walking at low tide. Bunurong Marine and Coastal Parks feature striking rock formations like Eagles Nest, rock pools at Flat Rocks, and excellent snorkelling and fossil‑hunting spots. The Shell and Dinosaur Museum houses exhibits including Australia’s first dinosaur bone discovered locally in 1903. Recreational amenities include a tennis club, golf course, playgrounds, and walking trails such as the Screw Creek Trail and the Bass Coast Rail Trail via nearby Wonthaggi.

Most residents travel by car, with about 68% driving to work. Around 6 to 7% work from home, while small numbers walk or cycle. Inverloch is accessible by road via the Bass Highway, with connections to larger towns like Wonthaggi (14 km west) and Leongatha.
