Nerrina is a semi-rural suburb with a small township and commercial area on the north-eastern rural-urban fringe of the city, 4km east of the CBD on the foothills of the Brown Hill range.

Little Bendigo Primary is the local school, the town also has a Pub, and is serviced by all the amenities of the surrounding area when it comes to shopping, schools and health services.

There are many parks and reserves in Nerrina including the Childrens Home Pine Plantation, Ballarat North Bushland Reserve, Nerrina Recreation Reserve and the Monte Christo Bushland Reserve.
