About Wendouree

Wendouree is a large suburb, on the north western rural-urban fringe of Ballarat and has the largest population of all of the suburbs in the City of Ballarat.

The suburbs name comes from the man-made lake located nearby Lake Wendouree.

The area provides excellent retail facilities at Stockland Shopping centre, a medical precinct, public transport, Eureka Stadium, Performing arts centre, Ballarat Showgrounds and an easy walk to the beautiful Lake where you can enjoy a walk around the lake, the famous Begonia Festival in the Botanic Gardens in March each year and Springfest in September.

Wendouree is home to the second-largest commercial and business centre in Greater Ballarat, as well as a number of Ballarat-based commercial and industrial businesses.

Schools in the suburb include Mount Rowan Secondary College, Forest Street Primary School-Forest Street Deaf Facility, Ballarat Grammar, Federation University, Wendouree Primary School, Yuille Park Community College, OLHC and a number of Kindergartens.
